UREA FORMALDEHYDE RESIN ADHESIVE

PRESSET 5001 with an appropriate hardener provides a glue for use in the production
of plywood.

Specification:

Appearance:	White, viscous, free flowing liquid
Viscosity at 25^oC	20-30 Secs (in B₄ ford cup)
pH	7.5 – 8.5
Density at 25^oC	1.21

Packing:

200 – 250 KG in M.S Barrel.

Storage:

Storage life of liquid resin is 4-6 weeks depending upon the
weather condition. The resin should be stored in cool dry place and kept as cool as possible.

Hardeners:

In plywood manufacturing the normal hardener to be used is
hot hardener.

Recommended glue mixes:

Resin	100 parts
Water	20 - 25 parts
Hardener	0.5 - 1 parts
Extender (Wheat flour / GNCP / TSP)	10 - 15 parts
Liquor Ammonia	0.5 – 1 parts

In case of hot hardener use 4-5 Parts of hot hardener in 100 Parts of resin.

Basic setting time:         90^oC(194^oF)    -           3 minutes
                                       100^oC(212^oF)    -          2 minutes
                                       110^oC(230^oF)    -          1 minutes

                                        To work out the necessary pressing time one must add to the
                                        basic setting times above the time it takes for the heat to travel
                                        from the press platen to the farthest glue line. The additional
                                        times at different temperatures are :
